From July 17 to 19, Hou Kai, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of China and Secretary General of ASOSAI, attended the 62nd Meeting of ASOSAI Governing Board and the First Joint Meeting of ASOSAI and ARABOSAI held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, sent a congratulatory letter to the meetings, and Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan, held a group meeting with the heads of the participating delegations.
The governing board meeting approved reports presented by ASOSAI bodies, and elected ASOSAI representatives on the INTOSAI Governing Board and INTOSAI External Auditor. At the ASOSAI-ARABOSAI Joint Meeting, Governing board members of the two organizations shared experiences and insights on two themes: "Audit response to climate change" and "The use of Artificial Intelligence in audit".
Representatives from the supreme audit institutions of relevant members of ASOSAI, ARABOSAI, and INTOSAI participated in the meetings.
